Language Map is a free map of Europe at languagemap.info. Type up to three words — English by default, or another Google Translate language — and see how they look across dozens of European languages. Each translation sits at that language’s linguistic heartland, not automatically at a capital city.
The map covers major state languages and regional ones such as Basque, Catalan, Welsh, Breton, Faroese, Sicilian, Occitan, and Luxembourgish. Related languages share a colour. Non-Latin scripts include a Latin reading in square brackets, for example привет [privet].
It is a living remake of the old Language Map site and of the European word translator on UK Data Explorer. The translations are machine-made, so they can miss idiom, case, or a word with more than one meaning. Treat the map as a way to notice patterns across Europe, not as a dictionary.
